Write to me

Anything about the app — a bug, a wish, a question about the subscription: martin@krcek.cz. I answer in English and Czech, usually within two working days.

Reporting a bug is fastest straight from the app: Settings → About → Report a problem. It pre-fills the build version and diagnostics, so you do not have to copy anything.

Frequently asked

Why is my recording not transcribed on the phone?

On-device transcription needs iOS 26. On an older system the AI on servers in the EU does it — which is why the audio is sent there. The app says so under the record button with an orange triangle and a cloud icon; tap it and you learn exactly what will happen.

I recorded something but the transcript is empty

When there is no speech in a recording — silence, music, noise — the app tells you and creates no text. That is on purpose: the AI used to make content up in such cases, which is worse than an empty result. The audio stays saved, and you can play and name it as usual.

What are minutes and why did they run out?

Recording and transcribing on the phone are free and unlimited. Minutes are only spent on processing on the servers: AI transcription and template outputs. Settings → Premium shows what you have left. When they run out, the recording is not lost — it waits until you have free minutes or a subscription.

Can I make my own template?

With a subscription, yes. In the template menu (Add output on a recording) there is a Your own template item at the bottom — it opens an editor where you describe in your own words what AI should make from a recording. Once saved, it shows up in the menu next to the others. You can keep up to five of your own and rewrite or delete them anytime. The shape of the output stays uniform so it can be displayed and shared like any other; the original transcript never changes.

What goes to the servers and what stays on the phone?

Two switches decide, in Settings → Saving to servers:

What is switched on is shown at the top of Settings under Current mode — in plain words, with arrows for where the data flows. On an iPhone without iOS 26 they cannot be switched off: only the server can transcribe speech there.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Apple manages subscriptions, not the app: on your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Voice Capture and choose Cancel. There is a shortcut in the app too, under Settings → Premium → Manage subscription. After cancelling it runs until the end of the paid period.

How do I delete individual recordings?

In the Recordings tab tap Select, pick the recordings (or a whole day) and delete them at once. A recording always goes with its transcript and AI outputs — and if it was backed up, it disappears from the servers too. How much space the audio takes is shown in Settings → Storage.

How do I delete my account and all data?

Settings → Account → Delete account and data. It deletes the recordings on the servers, the account and the files on the phone. It cannot be undone and a new empty account is created. Details are in the privacy policy (in Czech).

Where exactly is my data?

What stays on the phone goes nowhere. What is sent lies in the European Union (Frankfurt) and the AI processes it in the EU as well (the Netherlands). There is an overview on the Where my data is page (in Czech) and in the app under Current mode.

I lost my phone — are my recordings gone?

The ones that stayed only on the phone, yes — that is what the backup to the servers is for. With backup on and the account linked to your Apple ID you can read the recordings on the web, and they come back after reinstalling.

Can I read my transcripts with my own program?

Yes. In Settings → Connect to Other Apps you create a personal key, and with it Notion, Zapier, Shortcuts or your own script can pull your finished transcripts and AI outputs. The key can only read, belongs to one account and you can revoke it any time. The interface and examples in Python and shell are on the Developer API page.

The app is in Czech, I want English (or the other way round)

The language follows your phone. A Czech-speaking iPhone gets Czech, everyone else English. You can change it in the system Settings → Apps → Voice Capture → Language. The transcription language is a different thing and is switched in the app under the flag above the record button.

Beta test

The app is still in testing through TestFlight and changes quickly. When you hit something that does not work, let me know — most fixes come from testers' reports.
